Merit Badges!

Like many people, I was once a girl scout back in the day, and boy did I (along with my Mom's help) work my ass off for those merit badges - sewing, cooking, you name it!
So it was cool to stumble across Pod Post and see these contemporary crafty merit badges they have for sale. They must be the first people I have ever seen to create merit badges for letterpress! Their set includes 3 badges - one for setting type, one for type, and one for printing (on a Vandercook of course - but damn printing on an old school C&P is so much harder!). They also have great sets of badges for bookbinding and zine making arts - so I must give props to these crafty librarians for having merit badges for all these skill sets!

Cuppa Pens

For the first time in awhile, I started combing through the Supermarket website (kind of like etsy, but more curated), and stumbled across the designer, Design Glut, and their wonderful "Hookmaker". Combining a tile and a teacup, something utilitarian and beautiful is created. A place to stow pens, or just to shove knick knacks or keys, it can work it almost any environment. I wonder if they have them in other colors?
As a pretty young, but boundary pushing industrial design group, I look forward to seeing other items from them.

T.shelf

My friend Tara is always emailing me interesting furniture and design ideas for my loft, as organization can be overwhelming in such a large and open space. Her recent email led me to the work of J1 Studio, who creates this very geometric shelving unit, the T.shelf . It almost reminds me of a vine climbing the wall - or an ever expanding spider web. I think it's pretty interesting nonetheless and would be cool if several units could combine and reach all over the place - nice to see somebody who can create a shelving unit that works around the furniture you currently own.

Did I tell you I made some coasters?

Yup, I did, letterpressed and done. Check them out on etsy.

I want this so bad.....

......But somehow it is not meant to be. I love this burger wrapper.
Present & Correct's website doesn't seem to like my American computer, and so, doesn't allow me to make a purchase, so maybe I have to wait until a pile of them are discovered in the underbelly of the Rose Bowl Flea Market in order to get them.

Was I the only person that fantasized about having a Big Boy doll as a kid?

Agricole Mutuel

When I first saw this vintage chart, I never expected it to be a pro agricultural one. But yeah for farmers, I guess?
UK based Present & Correct is introducing lots of nifty vintage items like this on their new site, that color junkies would drool over displaying in their home.
I love the color and illustration. It almost seems like an item the folks at Three Potato Four would probably would have loved to have in their home office. Come to think of it, P&C does seem like TP4's long lost Brit cousin........
